Maria Eleftheriou was born in Athens in the year 1979.

At the age of 18 she would make her debut into the world of jewellery, through working at the workshop of her father Kostas Eleftheriou, which had been founded in 1971 and was renowned for the exquisite quality of it's creations.

During this time she would also be studying at the Mocume School of Athens, by then a renowned establishment in the world of handmade jewellery creations, an institution which opened her horizons in the art of freehand design.

She follows a strong hereditary tradition, remaining faithful to the very high standards of quality, whilst at the same time being innovative, thus carving out her own path.All her unique designs are first imprinted on paper. The original piece is manipulated with her hands, and those of her skilled and experienced craftsmen, eventually manifesting itself into the final piece. She works with wax, precious ores, fire and so on.

My references, my life, but also the worlds that clash within me, are what inspire and breathe life into the conceptual model….
Thus, I want to embrace and impart all these sentiments through the creation of a unique piece of jewellery.
